Sprinkler Installation

Expert install with minimal disturbance

A sprinkler system is a vast network of pipes, valves, wires, and sprinkler heads that waters a designated area. The installation process is defined as “light construction,” and involves pulling pipe underground as well as tapping into the main waterline of your home.

One of the most common concerns from customers is the amount of disturbance to their lawn. Unfortunately, many companies employ a practice of “install and haul,” whereby they disrupt your landscape and are never heard from again.

With Advantage Irrigation, you can rest assured that your environment will be carefully respected as we install your lawn sprinkler system with minimal invasiveness, using only the most current technology and best practices. It is also our strict policy to instruct the customer on their new system and to be readily available after installation is completed.

The customer can expect installation to take approximately 1-3 days, depending on the scope of the work needed. Water will be shut off for only an hour, in order to tap into the mainline. We cap off the experience with a detailed tutorial, which includes programming your irrigation controller, our own trade secrets on how to save water, and a supervised “dry run” performed by the customer.

At job every site, we put 25 years of experience into analyzing and designing a lawn sprinkler system that is perfect for your particular setting. Shade, slope, and soil type all play a role in the components and layout that will ultimately be chosen.

Advantage Irrigation has been installing the highest quality irrigation systems in Medway, Medfield, Brookline, and surrounding areas for over a decade. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence with you!

Frequently asked questions

There are several types of sprinkler systems you can install depending on your specific needs and the nature of your landscape. Some of the most common types include:

  • Pop-up Sprinkler Systems: These are the most common type used in residential landscapes. They have heads that rise from the ground when watering and retract afterwards.
  • Drip Irrigation Systems: These systems deliver water directly to the root zones of plants, making them highly efficient and suitable for gardens or dense plantings.
  • Rotor Systems: These use rotating streams of water and are suitable for large, open areas like lawns.
  • Soaker Hoses: These hoses are porous and seep water along their length. They’re often used for gardens and flower beds.

Each system has its pros and cons, so it’s important to consult with a professional to determine the best option for your needs.

The length of time it takes to install a sprinkler system can depend on several factors, including the size and complexity of the system, the type of soil, and the current landscaping. For a typical residential property, it usually takes between one and three days. Larger or more complex installations may take longer.

Some disruption to your lawn is unavoidable during a sprinkler system installation, but professional installers use techniques and equipment designed to minimize damage. After installation, any disturbed areas are usually filled with soil and reseeded, so your lawn should return to normal within a few weeks.

While a DIY installation is possible, it’s generally recommended to hire a professional. Installing a sprinkler system involves complex tasks like designing an efficient irrigation layout, properly connecting plumbing and electrical components, and adjusting for optimal water coverage. A professional installation ensures the system is efficient, reliable, and complies with local codes and regulations.
